Matteo Cremonesi (Milan, 1986) is an artist, researcher, and educator. His artistic practice investigates the narrative structures of contemporary culture, exploring the persistence and recurrence of archetypal imaginaries, signs, symbols, and narratives within contemporary frameworks. His work examines media and the narrative ambiguity generated by its transformations.
Cremonesi’s works have been exhibited in international public and private spaces, including Nighttimestory (Los Angeles), Museo Santa Maria della Scala (Siena), Bleschunov Municipal Museum (Odessa), Festival Internacional de Artes Gráficas (São Paulo), Miheliceva Gallery – 15th Festival Art Stays (Ptuj, Slovenia), Offprint London and Photo London – Tate Modern (London), Fondazione Hangar Bicocca (Milan), Family Business (New York), The Orange Gallery (Seoul), Eukaryoteは Tokyo 東京 (Japan) , Museum of Art (Tel Aviv), Jarach Gallery (Venice), and Banquet Gallery (Milan).
In addition to his artistic practice, Cremonesi has extensive teaching experience. He has collaborated with NABA (Milan), the Ligustica Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa (Genoa), MADE Program (Syracuse), Jimei University JMU 集美大学 (Xiamen, Fujian, China), Huaqiao University 华侨大学 (Xiamen and Quanzhou, Fujian, China).
He is the co-founder and deputy director of PHROOM, an international research platform on visual culture, co-founder and curator of Amanda Artist Rue Space (Genoa), and director of the publishing project Magütt Publishing.
